Introducing Baub Bidon, a Haitian/African American luminary in poetry, acting, writing, and playwriting, with a penchant for comedy. Baub's unique blend of Hip Hop, jazz, and blues transforms his performance poems and short stories into captivating narratives. His accolades include affiliations with the Blackout Arts Collective, the Connecticut Slam Team of 2012, and the National Association for Campus Activities (NACA). Baub's most notable contribution is the founding of Free 2 Spit in New Haven, CT, in 2004, an open mic venue that has become a sanctuary for artists for over two decades. Baub's recent roles in productions by Incarn Live Virtual Theatre, alongside a prolific career in music videos, films, plays, and publications, underscore his dynamic presence in the arts.

L&L Music, featuring Leroy Robinson on piano, brings years of experience from Rhode Island to our stage, with roots deeply embedded in the church. Their journey reflects a dedication to musical excellence across various genres.

Paul Williams, known as "Sweet P Guitar," brings a rich tapestry of R&B, Jazz, Blues, Gospel, and more to our event. His expertise as a musician and baritone vocalist, coupled with his acting skills, adds a unique depth to our lineup.

Our esteemed host, Alisha A. Pina, introduces her venture, Inner Wingspan, offering marketing, communications, and consulting services. Alisha, a lifelong Rhode Islander, enriches our event with her empowerment speaking, writing, and captivating spoken word performances.

This event is proudly presented by "tell your truth," a 501(c)(3) organization dedicated to nurturing the artistic community. We welcome donations to support our mission. Join us at Needle and Thread on February 26th at 7:30 PM for an evening of fine dining and exquisite poetry. Space is limited, so RSVP early. Dress code: Elegant attire is encouraged for a night that will leave you inspired and moved.

Headlining the evening is the enigmatic Toni Rose, a multi-faceted artist known as Trouble to some, Faithful friend to others, Mother, Daughter, Sister, Victim, Survivor, Lover, Fighter, Champion, Confidant, Artist, and Poet. Toni's poetry delves into life's struggles, painting heart-wrenching truths with words. She is the founder of The Blue Rose, a movement that empowers individuals to find their voice, speak up, and break the cycle. Toni 'Blue' Rose, a spoken word artist with a master's level clinician background, believes in Healing Through Art Therapies. She perseveres through the dark times, occasionally stumbling and doubting, but never relinquishing hope or the fight. Those willing to listen will glimpse into her soul, experiencing gritty, real, and heart-rending truths.

The co-feature of the night is the extraordinary Coco Brown is a southern transplant from Virginia. She studied voice at Virginia State University and taught voice in the Richmond area. She has worked at Mannes College of Music in New York City and George Mason in the DC area. She sings with The Invitation and is a regular at open mics around the Boston area.
